Brokenness

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:1

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.” Psalm 51:1

“For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.” Isaiah 57:15

Brokenness is good.
Brokenness means PRESENCE.
And presence, is life.

"It is abnormal for a Christian not to have an appetite for the impossible. It has been written into our spiritual DNA to hunger for the impossibilities around us to bow at the name of Jesus."

When Heaven Invades Earth, Bill Johnson

What if?

What if I just let Him love me?
What if I just let Him love me the way that I need?
T
he way that I have always wanted?
What if I just let Him love me for me?

Perhaps life would be so much easier…
If I just really gave Him all of me.

Fickle heart of mine, please give yourself wholly to this One called Love and let Him, the Unchanging, come and make His home in you. I cannot command change nor do I have the strength to… but Jesus… He pleads for me… and so He pleads for you.

Redemption

The day will come. The day will come. The day will come.

This is my hope.

That one day, He will come and make the wrong things right.

Jesus… come back.

Jealousy

God’s jealousy is marked by hesed love.
It is committed, steadfast, and long suffering.
It is passionate for the others’ welfare and always protects.

Human jealousy is marked by self-centered love.
It is dominating, cruel, controlling, tyrannical, suspicious, and refuses to trust.

The difference is focus.

In His jealousy, God sacrificed His son.
In our jealousy, we shudder at the thought of sacrifice.

Be zealous for a Godly jealousy — focus on freely loving others instead of protecting yourself. When you are confident that He loves you and only wants to do good for you, then there is no need to try and protect yourself. The Maker of the universe… your Abba Father will not let you fall. Don’t let the enemy or self-preservation steal your joy in giving and loving others extravagantly.
